Does God Tell Lies? - Part 3 - By Pat Stanton

Does God tell lies? Let me answer this question by telling you what a lie is. According to the Greek used in the New Testament, a lie is an untruth, something erroneous, deceitful, wicked, and false. Revelation 21:8 teaches that all liars will have a terrible eternity, "all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire."

God is not a liar! He is holy and is called the Spirit of Truth. His kingdom was established in righteousness, purity and peace. Psalm 45:6 "Your throne O God is forever and ever. A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of your kingdom." God's word is true. He cannot and will not lie. His character and covenant does not change and His promises have not changed.

Jeremiah 1:12 "I will hasten my word to perform it" (In the Hebrew, this says, "I am watching over my word to perform it"). We can believe and trust the promises of God!

Hebrews 1:12 "But you are the same, And your years will not fail."
