The God of Peace - Part 6 - By Pat Stanton

The Price for Peace...

The Price for Peace...The Bible tells us that Jesus Christ paid a tremendous price so that we might live in daily peace. Isaiah 53 gives much insight into the reality of the suffering that Jesus endured for mankind.

These verses state that Jesus was despised and rejected by men; therefore he understands when you feel the hate and rejection of others. He understands when you are persectued for righteousness' sake by "religious leaders". He also knows the reeling of pressure that comes from the insults of family members.

Verse five states that the chastisement needed to obtain peace was put upon Jesus. He bore the bruises from the Roman soldiers' whips on his back, so that we could be freed from mental or physical pain. He also took our punishment so that we could live all our days in peace. He paid the supreme sacrifice for our well being and now gives us the choice of receiving His magnificent offering.

Verse 10, "Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed." Verse 11, "He shall see the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied."

2 Corinthians 5:21, "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him."

Colossians 1:20, "And having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth or things in heaven."

Jesus Christ is still the Author and Promoter of Peace. There is no emotional turmoil or mental depression that cannot be cleansed and healed by His love and care. I have seen captive minds set free by the healing touch of Calvary. I have watched the light of peace flow into eyes that were once fearful and strained. God's peace is available for anyone who will bend the knee and heart.
