Every human being knows that there must be some kind of peace available because he is constantly searching for it. If you stood on a street corner and asked each person what they wanted most out of life, a large number would say they are searching for peace. What is real peace? How would you define the kind of peace that you need?

I like to think of peace as total well being. This means that I am contented and thankful for life and for the position that I hold in life. I have a deep calmness and rest within at all times. This does not mean there are never any problems or troubles that come, but it does mean that I can have a supernatural supply of peace from the river of God that never runs dry.

The original meaning of the word peace as it is used in Isaiah 26:3, "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind (thoughts or imaginations) is stayed on thee:  because he trusteth in thee." The original Hebrew says that this kind of peace means to be safe, well, happy, friendly, at rest, and to have health and prosperity. The New Testament writers give us further enlightment as we look at several verses that show the kind of peace that God gives through Jesus Christ our Lord.

John 14:27, "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you:  not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." The original Greek text reveals that this kind of peace means to be at one with yourself, to have quietness, rest, and prosperity. Please meditate on these verses and just see the beautiful life of love and peace that God has provided for his people. Visualize yourself receiving the kind of peace that is revealed.

Luke 8:48, "And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort:  thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace."

Acts 10:36, "The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ."

Romans 5:1, "Therefore being justified  by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."

On Mother's Day, May 8th, 2005, my mother, Sue Campbell, went to be with the Lord. She was 89 years of age and had enjoyed a happy and fruitful life. Many have said, "I am so sorry that she had to die on Mother's Day." My granddaugher, who was only ten years old at the time said, "It is alright because she was the grandest mother of all!"

Mother graduated from college when she had four children. She served as a pastor's wife for 50 years and helped countless couples and women to find a strong faith in the Lord. People were drawn to her by her magnetic smile and the joy of the Lord that filled her life.

When Mother was eleven years of age, Jesus appeared to her in a vision as she made a public declaration to receive the Lord into her heart. This life changing experience happened to Mother in her little country church. From that moment on, she never turned away from the One who gave her new life!

"But the meek shall inherit the earth, and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace" (Psalm 37:11).

I pray you experience the mighty truth of this verse and know in your heart and life the fulfillment of God's provision. The Lord states those who are meek  - - - - (gentle, humble - saintly) will inherit the land.

This word inherit has a powerful life changing meaning. It's to:

* occupy (by driving out previous tenants and possession in their place)
* to seize - cast out - destroy and disinherit - take possession

As the song says, go into the enemies camp and seize and take back what has been stolen from you. You can only do this if you are living a committed life and walking in His authority and peace.

May we be committed to Him and then join together as one..."That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations" (Psalm 67:2).

I pray for you to effectively inherit many new blessings from the Lord and to revel in His peace.

This peace means:

* to be safe, happy, and well - to receive welfare from Him
* health, prosperity and peace
