It can be exciting and thrilling to be "stopped in your tracks" by the hand of God. This is exactly what happened to Saul in the New Testament in Acts 9:3.  "...And suddenly a light flashed around him from heaven." Saul was totally enveloped in the presence of the Lord and the glory of the light blinded him for three days (Acts 9:3-9). He said that this light was brighter than the noonday sun (Acts 26:13).

Saul was a strict Pharisee who persecuted the new Christians of The Way. He imprisoned many and even consented to the murder of Stephen. But, suddenly God! Saul was knocked to the ground by the power of God and Jesus appeared to him and said, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?" Here we have the head of the church telling Saul that he is persecuting Him by harming His body the church (Ephesians 1:22,23).

Aren't we glad that Saul was changed into another man and became known as the Apostle Paul? Do you need the light of the Lord to shine into your life? Why not get closer into His presence and just talk!

After speaking for three different ladies groups and sharing a message entitled, "And Suddenly God," I was thrilled as I studied scripture and recounted several personal stories when God suddenly came on the scene.

Isn't it wonderful when God puts His touch on our circumstances! I am always refreshed with the story from Luke 2:13,14, "And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace and good will toward men."

This verse can teach us that we are to be men and women of good will and of His favor. People of good will are people that God favors and whose own wills desire the heart of God.

God has always desired good for His children. He teaches this in Psalm 84:11B..."No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly." It is also true that people who promote good will have peace.

The following steps are given to aid you in finding wholeness and love in all your relationships and situations:

5.  Determine within yourself that things will remain peaceful, and diligently maintain this attitude. Romans 15:1, "We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves."

6.  Depend on Jesus' power and love, and not your own strength. Micah 3:8a, "But truly I am full of power by the Spirit of the Lord."

7.  Begin to say that God is working, and that He is correcting the situation. Mark 11:23, "For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith." Luke 1:37, "For with God nothing shall be impossible."

8.  Read 1 Corinthians 13 and Psalm 23 once every day.

9.  Look for ways to let God's love flow out through your life. Luke 6:27, 28, "But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you."

10.  Let ALL YOUR EXPECTATIONS REST IN GOD......There is no disappointment in Him. Psalm 62:5, "My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him."
