Whatever is fed into the brain will produce good or bad brain waves (thoughts and patterns). The brain is the origin of thought and nervous coordination. It seems that our brain waves are able to etch and form pathways or channels across our minds. Our thought patterns (habits) then begin to shape our mind, will, and emotions. People who have negative thought patterns are usually prone to worry and fear.

A very nervous person is one whose thoughts have been formed by trauma, harshness, sorrow, and a host of other evils. A pattern of worry and fear can begin a process of establishing strongholds of insecurity, guilt, anger, and weakness. The very best plan for renewing the mind is the Word of God and life in the Holy Spirit.

God's word will wash your mind and emotions as you take time to read and apply scripture. A daily meditation in the Bible will begin a cleansing and healing process. Your old thought patterns can be renewed and changed by the love and power of God.

Romans 12:2, "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may know what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."

God sent His Word - the written and Living Word to heal! "Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching, preaching the good news, and healing every weakness and infirmity among the people" (Matthew 4:23).

Psalm 107:20, "He sent His word and healed them and delivered them from their destruction." He is still unlimited, unchanging, and all powerful! God has not changed His mind about healing. His thoughts and ideas for man are the same. "For I am the Lord, I do not change..." (Malachi 3:6). "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever" (Hebrews 13:8).

I love the truth about healing in Exodus 15:26. The Lord declares to His people that "He is the Lord that heals." This same message is given in Isaiah 53:4,5 and in 1 Peter 2:24. Aren't we glad that God's truth is still enduring to all generations! This is expressed in Psalm 33:11, "The counsel of the Lord stands forever, and the plans of His heart to all generations."

God also states that the "authority of His word is settled and established in heaven and that His faithfulness endures to all generations" (Psalm 119:89,90). We should all give thanks that we can receive healing and help from the written and the Living Word! I am so grateful that I can have a part in sending forth the truth of the Lord. "I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever; with my mouth I will make known Your faithfulness to all generations" (Psalm 89:1).

1.  Is the voice you're hearing consistent with the Word? God's voice never conflicts with the Word of God.

2.  Does it conflict with human reasoning? Is it reasonable? God's voice isn't necessarily reasonable to the world because the world's system is different.

3.  Does it clash with my fleshly desire? God's will or voice doesn't gratify the flesh, but will gratify the Spirit.

4.  Will this challenge my faith?

5.  Does this call for courage?

6.  Does this cause me to think of the effect on others?  Am I concerned about my influence on others - will I be harsh, crude, or careless? I must yield to Him, love others, carry their burdens at times, die to self, and learn to be patient.

7.  When God speaks, He makes me consider future consequences - Satan does not!
