On Mother's Day, May 8th, 2005, my mother, Sue Campbell, went to be with the Lord. She was 89 years of age and had enjoyed a happy and fruitful life. Many have said, "I am so sorry that she had to die on Mother's Day." My granddaugher, who was only ten years old at the time said, "It's alright because she was the grandest mother of all!"

Mother graduated from college when she had four children. She served as a pastor's wife for 50 years and helped countless couples and women to find a strong faith in the Lord. People were drawn to her by her magnetic smile and the joy of the Lord that filled her life.

When Mother was eleven years of age, Jesus appeared to her in a vision as she made a public declaration to receive the Lord into her heart. This life changing experience happened to Mother in her little country church. From that moment on, she never turned away from the One who gave her new life!

The Word of God shows that we can have spiritual and mental wholeness. Mark 5:15 gives the end results of the Lord's ministry to the Gadarene demoniac. "And they came to Jesus and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind..."

Luke 5:11-32 also shows a man who was oppressed by the devil and yet would not be considered as a "mental case" by today's standard. Yet he was oppressed and tempted by spirits of lust, greed, and rebellion.

Verse 17, 18 states, "And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,..."

The Word of God says that we can have mental health if we follow the principles that the Lord gave for our well-being.  We must heed the words of Christ:

1.  "Don't worry, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be known unto God..." (Philippians 4:6).

2. "That ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service" (Romans 12:1).

3.  "And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and accectable, and perfect will of God" (Romans 12:2).

Our Father God is the author of peace.

1.  Our Father God is the author of peace. "Now the God of peace be with you all, Amen." (Romans 15:33).

2.  Jesus Christ, the Son, is called the Prince of Peace. "And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace" (Isaiah 9:6).

3.  His peace is still available for you.  "...of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end" (Isaiah 9:7).

4.  Jesus died on the cross and paid for your peace. He took the punishment for you. "...the chastisement for our peace and well being was upon Him, and with the stripes that wounded Him we are healed and made whole."

5.  The Peace of God is a gift to you. Jesus said, "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid" (John 14:27).

6.  The Holy Spirit can give you an Anointing of Peace. "For the Kingdom of God is not food and drink, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit" (Romans 14:17).

7.  We are to be peacemakers and live in peace. "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the Sons of God" (Matthew 5:9). "And let the peace fo God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body: and be thankful" (Colossians 3:15).

8.  Receive his Anointing of Peace. "Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you (and set you apart for service) completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ" (I Thessalonians 5:23).
