Does God Come To You When You Pray? - By Pat Stanton

When you take time to pray, does God give you something of Himself?

When you take time to pray, does God give you something of Himself?  Well, let us answer the question with scriptures from the Bible.  "The Lord is close to all who call on Him, yes, to all who call on him in truth" (Psalm 145:13).  For all Christian believers who serve the Lord with an upright heart, the Lord's presence comes when they seek Him in prayer.

"Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.  You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart" (Jeremiah 29:12-13).  As you develop a life of daily prayer, you will find that the attributes and the character of God begin to form in your life.  The Lord releases as much of Himself as you make room for.

1.  The Lord promises to be near to those who fear and reverence Him (Psalm 85:9).

2.  He comes to those who pray (Psalm 145:18).

3.  He is near to those who have a broken heart (Psalm 34:18).

4.  He comes to those who draw near to Him (James 4:8).

"...the Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous" (Proverbs 15:29).
