In the Process of Time - By Pat Stanton

We need to remember that God is constantly at work in planning the events of our life...

We need to remember that God is constantly at work in planning the events of our life.  (No, this does not mean that every evil event has been orchestrated by God - we often make mistakes or have a life style that leads to pain and hurt).

I love the words from Exodus 2:23, "Now it happened in the process of time that the king of Egypt died.  Then the children of Israel groaned because of the bondage, and they cried out; and their cry came up to God because of the bondage.  So God heard their groaning..."  Well folks, the rest is history.

As the people of Israel prayed and cried out to God, then the Lord made a grand appearance to Moses on the back side of the desert.  As far as we know this was Moses first encounter with God.  Here God's initial revelation to Moses was of His holiness.  As Moses became a great leader of God's people, he had to remember constantly that the God he served - was holy.

As God spoke to him, Moses removed his shoes as a mark of respect and also as a symbol of laying aside all pollutions from walking in sin and the world.  We can also walk in righteousness and purity as we wait upon the Lord to "speed up the process of time" concerning our desires.

Moses had to wait until Pharoah and others had died who had sought his life.  "Go, return to Egypt:  for all the men are dead who sought your life" (Exodus 4:19)  As my husband, Jay, always says:  "Waiting on God is never wasted time!"
