The Anointing of Peace - By Pat Stanton

1.  Our Father God is the author of peace.

1.  Our Father God is the author of peace.  "Now the God of peace be with you all, Amen." (Romans 15:33).

2.  Jesus Christ, the Son, is called the Prince of Peace.  "And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace" (Isaiah 9:6).

3.  His peace is still available for you.  "...of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end" (Isaiah 9:7).

4.  Jesus died on the cross and paid for your peace.  He took the punishment for you.  "...the chastisement for our peace and well being was upon Him, and with the stripes that wounded Him we are healed and made whole."

5.  The Peace of God is a gift to you.  Jesus said, "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid" (John 14:27).

6.  The Holy Spirit can give you an Anointing of Peace.  "For the Kingdom of God is not food and drink, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit" (Romans 14:17).

7.  We are to be peacemakers and live in peace.  "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the Sons of God" (Matthew 5:9).  "And let the peace fo God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body: and be thankful" (Colossians 3:15).

8.  Receive his Anointing of Peace.  "Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you (and set you apart for service) completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ" (I Thessalonians 5:23).
