Plans for Peace - Part 3 - Pat Stanton

The Bible stresses there are many things we can do to keep our spiritual and mental sanity. We are told "presumption" brings strife; when the scorner is put out, the strife ceases. When negative talking stops, the strife always ceases (Proverbs 13:10, Proverbs 26:20).

If we don't know how to control our thinking we begin to suspect that someone is doing something behind our backs. Do we believe that a friend meant something evil towards us when they really didn't? Often times, parents presume that their children are getting into trouble when they aren't.

I remind you of a powerful, liberating verse in 2 Timothy 1:7 which says, "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." If we train ourselves to recognize where fear comes from, then we will be able to cast fear aside through the name of Jesus Christ. We can begin to confess (say) that God has given us love, power, and a sound mind.
